Christy Rose is the Creator and Co-Owner of KBShimmer, a cosmetics company that produces bold nail polishes, body care products and unique accessories for manicures and pedicures. Rose left her day job in real estate to pursue her passion for crafting beautiful things that has now become a popular nail polish brand.
How did you develop the idea for your company?
KBShimmer was born out of a love for pampering, vibrant colors and rich scents. It started with a gift of handmade soap, and the desire to have a creative outlet to come home to after an unfulfilling day at work. The desire to have some extra income led to vending at craft shows and online.
What did you do before starting KBShimmer?
Before KBShimmer, I worked in the real estate industry assisting a busy agent by listing houses, creating marketing materials and assisting with client communication.
When did you launch your company?
We started with handmade soaps and bath bombs in 2008. Just four years later, when supplies for creating nail polish were just being made available to the public, we added glittery polish to our line of body care. With a deep love of pedicures and glitter, creating nail polish was a logical next step in growing KBShimmer. It was around the same time that job loss allowed KBShimmer to become my full-time focus, and soon my husband came on full-time with the company. The desire for our polish grew quickly and we now have three additional employees to help provide KBShimmer all over the world!
