More than 90,000 admissions including salon professionals and owners, students, teachers, headliners and educators were reported at America’s Beauty Show 2019, which was held March 30-April 1 at McCormick Place North in Chicago. The industry's leading professional product manufacturers and distributors showed their latest offerings. In all, more than 360 exhibitors from around the globe exhibited. Of course, this year’s show was full of new color and styling trends, interactive technology displays, product launches and tools from top beauty brands, live competitions, education and more.
Attendees experienced The Beauty Tech Playground @ABS on their way to the showroom floor, which was a DJ-driven, curated area that featured high-tech, high-touch beauty innovation and inspiration. Salon professionals could sample virtual reality education, webinars and more.
The Runways @ ABS was a top attraction as it highlighed the vendor headliners of Premier Beauty Supply and SalonCentric, which offered continuous education during all three days. There were exciting presentions from Aloxxi, Amika, Aquage, Keune, L’Oreal Professionnal, Matrix, Moroccanoil, Pravana, Redken, Pulp Riot, Sexy Hair and more.
The show's signature fundraiser, the 7th annual Beauty Changes Lives Experience and Legacy Dinner honored the late Paul Mitchell. Proceeds from the event support the next generation of beauty and wellness professionals. The high-fashion, high-energy event was held at the renowned Geraghty in downtown Chicago. It featured a NextGen Runway presentation and party and the official announcement of the ABS Global Image Awards winners. In addition, the Fred A. Piattoni Award for Industry Service award was presented to Dr. Farouk Shami, founder and chairman of Farouk Systems Inc. (CHI, BioSilk, Esquire Grooming.
Next year's show will be held be held April 18-20, 2020, at the same venue in Chicago.
