Do you feel it? The professional-beauty atmosphere is pulsating with anticipation as the 15th edition of Cosmoprof North America lies just days away. The top North American B2B beauty show, which caters to the beauty professional via networking opportunities, product debuts, and meetings with key professionals and entities, will kick off at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center July 9-11. In true CPNA fashion, the 2017 show will debut new exhibits, which will not disappoint its attendees who have come to expect something new from the show each year.
“Our special areas have been so successful because they provide the ideal event scenario for everyone involved—buyers have come to trust our formula and know our areas provide a short-cut to leading brands; exhibitors get prime visibility, built-in business leads and easy set-up; and attendees get one more value-added stop on their CPNA tour,” said Daniela Ciocan, marketing director for CPNA.
First off, this year’s show will debut Discover Pro Beauty, a new initiative offered in collaboration with the Professional Beauty Association. It’s an area dedicated to innovative up-and-comers in the professional beauty space that will be located in the professional pavilion. The exclusive area’s design will encompass a high-end feel, and will host only 14 preselected exhibitors to ensure a match with participating buyers who represent national and regional distributors. The participating companies will offer products spanning nail and haircare products and tools, as well as makeup and skincare—all focused specifically on professional distribution. The area will also cater to start-up or established international brands that are new to the U.S. market to ensure it presents a trend directional showcase for inspiration in the professional beauty market.
The show will also debut Discover Green Leaf, a new curated area dedicated to green, eco-friendly, clean, organic and natural products, following the successful launch of Discover Green in 2016. Eighty indie companies will be presented between the two exhibits. Only 10 pre-selected brands, however, will be showcased in the Discover Green Leaf area, which will also host guaranteed meetings between buyers and selected Discover Green Leaf exhibitors. The two exhibits are being curated in collaboration with Insider’s Guide to Spas founder and editorial director Mary Bemis, who helped curate the debut of Discover Green in 2016.
“Discover Leaf is truly unique in that it offers exhibiting companies the ability to cross over into two different yet complimentary market segments—spa and specialty retail. Other events tend to exclusively focus on one or the other, whereas CPNA helps companies capitalize on multiple distribution models to grow their business,” said Ciocan. A couple of conference sessions are being offered in connection with the green market focus, including “What Women Want From Naturals” and "Ethical Consumerism: Connecting the Dots.”
Some of the show’s most popular exhibits, Discover Beauty and Spotlights, will be centrally located on the show floor. The high-end, curated sections will offer a line-up of 80 indie beauty brands this year. Participants in the Discover Beauty Full program will also benefit from guaranteed, one-on-one buyer meetings during a speed-dating like program at the show. Each participant will meet buyers from key retailers: Space NK, Neiman Marcus, Barneys, Kohl’s, Dillard's, Amazon, HSN, QVC and many others who have committed, especially, to participate in this special area.
And Spotlights, which offers a department store-like presentation for companies that are big on creativity yet smaller in size, will again present companies that are a prime fit for high-end retail stores, boutiques, salons and spas. The intimate section will include an open lounge area, all within the Discover Beauty section.
CPNA 2017 will continue to host PBA events, including the North American Hairstyling Awards, PBA Beacon and PBA Business Forum, as well as conferences and other educational initiatives. For more information visit cosmoprofnorthamerica.com.
