Today, Kylie Cosmetics offers more than 20 Matte Lip Kits in shades ranging from a blackened vampy plum to a light cool-tone nude and even a blackened teal green.
Jenner’s Matte Lip Kits, comprising matte liquid lipstick and a matching lip liner in the three original shades, sold out in less than one minute during the launch in 2015. The kits sold out again in early 2016, in just 7 minutes, as reported by Jenner via social media. That particular 2016 release included three Valentine’s Day shades. It’s been reported that the the lip kits were up on eBay for nearly 10 times their original price, $225, before they even left Jenner’s shelves, as customers bought multiple kits for profit.
