StyleCon 2016 was a lively event! On Saturday, November 5, thousands of beauty enthusiasts made their way to the Hangar at the OC Fair for the 10 a.m. opening. Paying anywhere from $39 to $300 for entry, pampering and generous swag bags, consumer attendees enjoyed exploring the latest in beauty and fashion—and making purchases at discounted prices. We saw a number of interesting new and emerging beauty brands—including family-owned and operated natural men’s grooming brand, Dapperman, as well as Daily Concepts, which offers innovative bathing products with an eco-friendly slant. There were several new, energetic makeup lines—in particular, Gallony and L.A. Girl, which seemed to be popular with attendees. A steady stream of panelists spoke throughout the day, including one panel that featured our very own managing editor, Breanna Armstrong, discussing the latest beauty trends. They detailed strobing, which adds light and sparkle to the face, and creating ombre lips, similar to the hair color style, but applied to lips, among other tips. For our executive editor, it was a great experience to see first hand what beauty consumers get excited about and just how much they love beauty—especially millennials!
