Leyla Milani made a huge impression as briefcase model #13 on the hit NBC show, Deal or No Deal. Known for her beautiful hair, she quickly became recognized around the world. Even Oprah had her on her show to praise her for her va-va-voom natural hair. Being an entrepreneur, Milani created Leyla Milani Hair to give her countless fans a chance to get her look through her luxurious line of clip-in extensions, styling tools and hair care.
How did you develop the idea for your company?
Growing up, I was always known for my hair, but it wasn't until years later during my time on Deal or No Deal working as briefcase model #13 when my hair became my trademark. At that time, the show was averaging nearly 20 million viewers per episode, and I was receiving thousands of fan mail letters from around the world asking about my hair. The emails and fan mail were constant and it seemed almost everyone wanted to know how I achieved my "big, voluminous" style. That's when the idea for the first product in the Leyla Milani collection was born: 100% human-hair clip-in extensions.
If you weren’t doing what you’re doing now professionally, what would you be doing?
I would travel the world as a professional food critic and visit as many countries as I could before I leave this world. Travelling and eating are two of my favorite pastimes. I think that would be the ultimate dream job!
